World Tarot Day

World Tarot Day is celebrated on May 25. Tarot is a 500-year-old system of images and symbols. While there are many different tarot traditions and tarot images, there are some things that are universally true about tarot.

Tarot is a book of spiritual wisdom in picture form. When drawn at random, tarot can give us practical and spiritual information about our lives. When studied, tarot provides a map for spiritual growth and enlightenment.

Tarot images can also provide a focus for meditation, creative prompts and manifestation.

In the hands of a trained professional tarot is a tool to aid the psychic process.

Tarot is also a tool for self-understanding, communication and spiritual attunement.

If you have a tarot deck sitting on the shelf, dust it off and put it to work!

If you are interested in tarot, get yourself and deck and get started!

If you have questions in your life, or want insight, give me a call to arrange an in-depth professional tarot reading with me!

May Global Tarot Circle Recap

Global Tarot Circle meets once a month on Webex.  There is no charge to participate. It’s an opportunity for anyone with an interest in tarot to meet other tarotists, share readings and learn something new about tarot.

Our May Global Tarot Circle met on Tuesday, May 28. As usual, we started our meeting by answering questions about tarot and giving each other quick readings.

Popular questions were “Am I on the right path in life?” and “What should my direction in life be?” These are great open-ended questions that give us the opportunity to discover the ways in which we block ourselves from success, as well as our goals, decisions and priorities.

Our topic was about ways family and relationships show up in tarot. We discussed cards that predict pregnancy and indicate the gender of unborn children. We discussed cards of romance, as well as cards that discuss family and interpersonal interactions.

We paid special attention to the Six of Cups and the Queen of Swords. We discussed the personal significators that we have for ourselves and for our friends and family.

The Six of Cups is an interesting card in that it can discuss all aspects of the past. The Six of Cups can talk about hanging on to the past too much, enjoying a reunion, past life issues or happy memories.

The Queen of Swords has always gotten a bad rap. She has been seen as untrustworthy and sharp-tongued. The Queen of Swords is the most likely of the four queens to be single and childless.

In more modern tarot interpretations, we see the Queen of Swords as a woman who is not afraid to speak her truth. That she had earned such a bad reputation is perhaps an insight into the sexism of the centuries that gave birth to tarot. After all, what man wanted to deal with a woman who wouldn’t simply keep her thoughts to herself?

Global Tarot Circle meets next on June 10th. To see recordings of previous meetings and to attend the June 10th meeting, visit the Event Listing on the Tarot Circle website.

What's Up at the Psychic Café?

Last week, May 26th, we were honored to have Theresa Reed, The Tarot Lady, in the house! We enjoyed a conversation about all things tarot!

We ended the show with a video about the Dadaist art movement and a song from String Band.

Watch the show in archive on the Tarot Topics News Site.

On June 2nd we will have a very special show. I am interviewing a diverse group of people and asking them all the same question. “What is one thing we can do to create a better world?”

Find out how everyone answered this question by tuning in this Sunday, June 2.

Visit the Show Info page for details, and don’t forget to Like us on Facebook!

Your One-Card Weekly Reading

Your one-card reading this week is The World.

The World is a card of completion, integration and attainment. It suggests that a goal has been reached or a project is finished.

The World may discuss the integration of body, mind and spirit, and therefore connotes a sense of successful holistic healing.

The World may tell you that all options are yours; the entire world is available to you.

On a more mundane level, the World may predict international travel.

In recent years the World has also taken on meaning as a card of environmental conservation and taking a global view.

The World card may advise you to “get the big picture” when approaching a problem.

Local Group Celebrates World Tarot Day

DSCF0029.JPG

West Palm Beach-

Wednesday, May 25this designated as “World Tarot Day.”  According to the website http://www.worldtarotday.org/, World Tarot Day is a day to “promote the use of tarot for the benefit and growth of the spiritual self.”

For the uninitiated, tarot refers to decks of 78 illustrated playing cards that first originated in Italy five hundred years ago.  Today, there are literally hundreds of different tarot decks available.  Tarot enthusiasts use the cards for personal growth, self-exploration and divination.

Tarot Circle Meetup of the Palm Beaches will be celebrating World Tarot Day by hosting a Skill Share.  From 6 pm – 10 pm on May 25th,tarot enthusiasts will gather to share readings with each other, and with the public.  Reiki healers, and readers and healers of other modalities are also welcome to share in the fun and fellowship.

Certified Tarot Grandmaster Christiana Gaudet organizes Tarot Circle Meetup of the Palm Beaches.  She will host the Skill Share at her office in the Harvey Building in downtown West Palm Beach.

“Anyone with an interest in tarot is welcome to join our Meetup, and is welcome to come experience our Skill Share.  Even if you’ve never had a reading before, you can come and enjoy a reading at no charge with a tarot student.”

Gaudet is the author of one book on tarot, entitled “Fortune Stellar,” from Jupiter Gardens Press.  She says she is nearing completion on another.  “It is easy for me to write about tarot,” says Gaudet.  “There is always something new to consider.”

Anyone who would like more information about World Tarot Day, Tarot Circle Meetup of the Palm Beaches or the Skill Share event can call Gaudet at 561-655-1160.
